Zimex Aviation, through its Air Operator Certificate and its Aviation Approved Training Organization, as the only EASA certified DHC6 Float Twin Otter operator and trainer for amphibian operations
Zimex Aviation, capitalizing on its almost 50 years of experience, has further developed its capabilities around the DHC6 Twin Otter product, and is now EASA certified to operate, maintain and train DHC6 Float Twin Otter aircraft and crew. Thanks to its know-how around the DHC6 product, and through its Air Operator Certificate, Part 145 Approval and Aviation Approved Training Organization, Zimex Aviation has further strengthened its product catalog offering turnkey solutions around the Twin Otter aircraft. The latest milestone was the successful extension of its EASA training approvals to include all crew initial and recurrent training for DHC6 Float aircraft. Relying on more than 30 staff members between instructors and training captains, Zimex Aviation is thus ready to support the training needs of DHC6 float operators worldwide. Established in 1969 Zimex Aviation has continuously delivered specialized remote field operations in Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Based in Switzerland, the company holds a Swiss Air Operator Certificate, and owns a Maintenance Repair Organization and an Aviation Training Organization. It operates and maintains a fleet of over 20 turboprop aircraft under EASA Aviation Standards. Zimex Aviation Ltd announces CEO Hugo Kopp to step down. Daniele Cereghetti appointed CEO, effective January 1, 2018
Glattbrugg, December 11, 2017 – Hugo Kopp, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zimex Aviation Ltd, has informed the Board of Directors of his desire to step down as CEO by the end of 2017, continuing to serve as Director Commercial Utility Aviation. The Board of Directors has appointed Daniele Cereghetti, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as CEO of Zimex, effective January 1, 2018. Mr Cereghetti is a member of the Executive Committee and joined Zimex in 2015.
Hugo Kopp, who has been CEO since 2003, joined the company in 2000. He first held the position as Project Manager in one of the most important operations within Zimex. Mr. Kopp will step down as CEO, effective December 31, 2017 and will be appointed Commercial Director Utility Aviation. In this role he will devote his efforts and resources explicitly to this key pillar of activity within Zimex, reporting directly to and working closely with Daniele Cereghetti.
Guy Girard, Chairman of the Zimex Board of Directors, commented, "I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Hugo’s achievements as CEO. Zimex recently diversified its range of services, entering into the Express Cargo market with ATR72 aircraft and increased its management capacities. During his tenure, Hugo built a strong expertise in the Utility Aviation sector. In his new position as Director, Hugo will be able to draw on plentiful resources of expertise that he gained in the past decade with a clear focus on the customer needs in this sector. This will further strengthen our market position. We anticipate a smooth transition as Hugo built a strong leadership team. His successor Daniele Cereghetti has been part of that team from the start. Zimex will be well positioned to continue its momentum."
Daniele Cereghetti has held positions as Senior Manager Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer within the aviation industry. He joined Zimex in 2015 acting as CFO and Deputy CEO and was instrumental in adding the Express Cargo Services to the portfolio. He holds a Master in Economics and Communication from USI Università della Svizzera Italiana, Lugano, and received his degree in Aviation Management from Université de Genève in 2011. He is a Swiss citizen, married and has 3 children.
