For our Safety and Compliance Department in Glattbrugg we are looking for a

Safety / Security & OHS Manager 100% (m/f)

Your main tasks


  • Act as Safety Manager (Company Form 4 Holder for Safety Manager for all company approvals; AOC, Part-145, Part-CAMO, and ATO and as required (EASA and others);
  • Establishing, implementing, maintaining and developing a proactive Safety Management System as well as ERP processes
  • Planning and carrying out Safety audits, identifying risks and proposing threat controls and mitigation measures
  • Scheduling and supervising continuous process of risk assessment, identifying hazardous events and their effects, proposes mitigation measures;
  • Monitoring and assuring that identified intolerable risks are corrected, and that changes made are permanent and effective including follow-up activities as well as statistical control;
  • Conducting periodical data evaluation on Safety Performance as an input to the management evaluation;
  • Creating and amending the Operation Safety Cases;
  • Planning, ensuring and monitoring adequate training of all personnel involved in the Safety Management System (including safety officers, inspectors, Managers, Post-Holders and all personnel involved in the operation) and archive training evidences
  • Promoting a sound, open and transparent Safety culture, including development of an awareness of hazards and risks;
  • Safeguarding the confidentiality of the identity of the reporter and of the persons mentioned in occurrence reports, with a view to promoting ‘just culture”
  • Managing safety event investigations prioritization;
  • Reviewing Safety recommendations and remedial action plan proposed by the Safety Officers with the Management team and trigger and follow-up the agreed actions;
  • Ensuring that Safety data and information gained through Safety & Compliance Management Systems is disseminated at all level of the Company;
  • Ensuring that Safety Management System Performance, System implementation and SPI goals achievements are evaluated, presented and reviewed with the Management on periodical basis;


  • Ensuring the overall Security (political, criminal, fragile context, travel risk, IT, etc.) and implementing security policies and procedures
  • Daily monitoring and updating of contingencies
  • Security data and -intelligence gathering, networking, analysis and presentation
  • Conducting security risk assessments, briefings, posture, mitigations, and effectiveness monitoring
  • Responsible for the security process evaluations and inspections
  • Developing methods to improve Safety & Security policies, processes, and practices
  • Instruct Security initial and recurrent courses

 Occupational Health and Safety

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating the company’s OH&S policy and program for strict compliance with all the relevant and applicable standards and requirements;
  • Liaising with line managers to design, plan and implement programs to train employees in compliance and safety practices;
  • Defining guidelines for the employees safety;
  • Validating the internal emergency plan and related safety procedures
  • Checking periodically if the internal emergency plan and all safety rules are efficient;
  • Reviewing and adjusting the internal emergency plan and the safety rules so that they may continuously improve the level of safety;
  • Using standard protocols to conduct routine inspections to provide periodic risk assessments of operations and to assure continued compliance with OH&S policy and procedures.
  • Documenting all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities and determining root cause analysis;
  • Preparing reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to the management

Your qualifications / requirements:

  • 5 years (minimum) of professional experience in the aviation environment with relevant experience in Safety and Security, Occupational Health & Safety Management preferred
  • Experience as EASA Nominated Person
  • Degree in a technical field (e.g. BSc in Aviation or MSc in Aeronautics) or strong aviation background as pilot, aircraft engineer and/or work experience in similar position;
  • Experience with behavior-based occupational health and safety and culture change initiatives
  • Excellent knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of security equipment or screening methods used
  • Solid knowledge of EASA, ICAO, IATA, and other aviation regulation;
  • Solid understanding of Risk Management Principles and Techniques to support the company SMS;
  • Very good understanding (and experience) of security in a European environment but also on some remote locations, like Africa, middle east or in crisis regions / high risk areas
  • Excellent intercultural communication skills. You will be in contact with many different stakeholders (clients, auditors, authorities, employees, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, etc.);
  • Very good IT learning skills, experience with cloud-based IT tools, such as WebManuals, iQSMS, MatrixLMS, SharePoint is an advantage;
  • Experience in data mining and statistical analysis;
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO9001 as well as SUVA and EKAS guidelines
  • Self-dependent, positive, creative personality with strong proactive and enthusiastic attitude;
  • Ability to work in a team and independent;
  • Ability to travel to various Zimex Programs as needed;
  • Positive personality with a willingness to foster capacity-building and understanding
  • Excellent communication in English both verbal and written, French and/or (Swiss-) German are big assets.
  • EU nationality or valid work permit for Switzerland;
